Sweden servers update

Seeing as more and more countries get their own servers I believe we should at least get to have one location in Sweden with servers that are worth playing on. How about you, id?

Yeah I think so too. Unfortunately there is no one in Sweden willing to host high quality servers currently.

Maybe if ID could outline what is needed for a server in their country, the community could cough up suggestions for what may be a suitable server location, who can host it.

With Sweden's internet capabilities i find it very strange no one can host "high quality servers".

That is a lie.
There is no one wanting to host them "for free". And why should anyone?
ID is a commercial company.

As representative for the company Excellent Servers who had the servers before running in Malmö I can tell you that this is not true.
We want to host the servers but ID does not want to pay the 250euro(2500sek) a month we want.
They told us it was to expensive. They just wanted to pay half of it.

We hosted the Malmö servers for free as a test. We have been hosting competition match servers for the tournaments lately. Will also do that for Dreamhack this month. But when we want money for the servers ID refuses.

So you guys are only worth 125euro(1250sek) a month.

That is ****ing cheap of id The thing is, sure, it might cost a few bucks; but if you aren't willing to make sacrifice and support something, there aren't really any chance of it ever becoming successful economically. Giving the swedish community the finger isn't really such a strategic thing to do.

Even worse that the admins give out lies.

Paying 250 euro so 100 swedish players would have 30 ping is not worthy, obiviusly. You should have acceptable pings on DE servers anyway. Lying from administration is not any good, but you're lucky what ID wants to spend at least 125/month for such small community.
