Try contacting TeliaSonera International Carrier... they have a good rep for gameservers.

ID is a commercial company.

As representative for the company Excellent Servers who had the servers before running in Malmö I can tell you that this is not true.
We want to host the servers but ID does not want to pay the 250euro(2500sek) a month we want.
They told us it was to expensive. They just wanted to pay half of it.

We hosted the Malmö servers for free as a test. We have been hosting competition match servers for the tournaments lately. Will also do that for Dreamhack this month. But when we want money for the servers ID refuses.

So you guys are only worth 125euro(1250sek) a month.
I understand you both. The way I see it though, is that id is doing something for the community. People have always set up GOOD servers in Sweden in the past, for the good of the gamers, without getting paid to do so.

I know this is something different, with QuakeLive. The host would probably have to withstand much more traffic than in the time of Quake 3, for example. But if I'm not completely wrong, it still is for the good of the community. As far as I know, id isn't making any money from servers hosted in Europe (since there are no ads.) So no one would have to feel that someone else is profiting at their expense, so to speak. And even if they did, I'm sure that someone has the resources to set up a server and at the same time not give a **** about missing out on the cash.

Since ES makes a living out of hosting game servers I wouldn't dream of implying that they should do this for free, all I'm saying is that there sure as hell are other options. Desperate times calls for desperate measures people! :-]

What the h...? ES requesting 250€/mo is way too much anyhow imo. It's not like there's 12 double quad core processors required to host some games for the Swedes. One or two modern computers should easily do the job for hosting enough games in Sweden and 250€/mo is obviously way overpriced for that. Unless I'm missing something critical here ofc...
