Game crashing

My computer has been crashing ever since the patch before the Quake Live launch. It locks up until i restart.

Im running Windows 7 x64 bit rtm 7600 build.
and Mozilla Firefox to run the game.
Intel Quad Core/2 gigs of ocz ram.
gigabit motherboard
Nvidia 8800 gts.

Not sure if there was an issue with windows x64 after that patch or what i re-installed multiple times...

ASUS m2n mx se plus motherboard
Nvidia 9800 gtx+
