failed marketing concept
actually i dont understand what this is about. i BOUGHT the game 10!!! years ago - its NOT an actual game, its NOT played by a huge community like wow had or whatever, like "UUHH everybody plays it, i have to play it too". when i log in at night, im often not able to play on servers in my foreign country, because there arent enough players online. high pings and no fun to play are the result.
i know that server maintainance and so on costs money, i appreciate the work done here but even if i hadn't bought the game 10 years ago i wouldnt think about paying for an absolutely obsolete!!! game for getting what? some maps i could play in quake3 for free? some stats i dont care about? making a clan, which im not interested in, because im too old for this stuff?
there was never an option for those oldschoolers, who already bought the game, to get a premium acc or whatever for free.
seriously, do you really expect us to pay?
in quake3 i had the choice between cpma/promode, rocketarena and lots of other gametypes, i had thousands of maps, hundreds of servers... FOR FREE! i get much less then before and i shall pay for that? every month? do i look like a zombie with sucked out brain?
i think id has a completely dumb marketing strategy for this game [im kinda into this marketing stuff, not working in marketing, but my job has the same occupational area]
i suggest:
think about some new strategies to earn some money with this game, you wont get mine, ill keep on playin for free. and if i cant anymore, i just stop playin and play something else.
