    Why can't my autoexec.cfg run?

    My config from the old days. Doesn't run auto and console says can't execute. I'm wondering if there is something in it the QL doesn't like that was ok in Q3?

    remove :

    seta com_hunkmegs "192"
    seta com_soundmegs "32"
    seta com_zonemegs "32"

    as they're totally unnecessary/cant be changed,

    also remove

    set snaps "40"
    set cl_maxpackets "62"

    remove all the snaps selection stuff, ql doesn't have snaps.

    I'd strongly suggest com_maxfps 125 or higher, unless your system really can't keep up that frame rate. Unlike Q3A the physics in QL are not frame rate dependent so there is no other reason to limit.



    as for it not executing, it's probably just in the wrong place.
    do you use steam or standalone QL? the config dirs are listed in this post under 'config files'

    Or you could find it this way:
    when in game do /writeconfig findthisfile
    then search your system for 'findthisfile.cfg' , this will be very very quick if you use ultrasearch and that will be the right directory for your autoexec.cfg to go.
