Quake against my housemate

hi, I want to play against my housemate but we're on the same internet connection what is the best way to do this?

There is currently no way to have a lan quakelive game, as ID have not released the client to the public. You're going to have to jump on a server :P

you can only do this what yakumo said if you and your mate are on same router....but yeah no lan...

If you could set up your own quake live server on 127.0.0.1, that would be LAN.

On the positive side if you can't/won't set up your own server, the lag will be the same for all of you.
