    OpenGL driver file placement

Can I place an opengl driver file somewhere in a directory to make quake live use that driver? It works for quakeworld and Rage, but I don't know if it's possible to do with quake live or where to put the file

If home/baseq3 doesn't work, maybe you should try the directory in which Firefox keeps plugin-container?

But why can't you install correct OpenGL driver system-wide?

    Yes, it's possible.
When I tried sweetFX here - as it works only with directX, I had to turn Quake Live into a DirectX game
It was easy as there is a driver available to do the magic, qindie-gl

I used it with qlprism and put the opengl32.dll driver in the exe directory (don't remember which one, there are two exe files).
    QLPrism\quakelive.exe
    QLPrism\xul\quakelive.exe
