Severe FPS drop when firing LG

Every time I fire LG i get a FPS drop of about 30-50. This is really bad because that can affect my aim, and is even worse on maps like quarantine or space maps where my FPS is already low. No matter what beam style i use its the same. My settings for textures are already as low as possible as well.

What if you do s_initsound "0" followed by snd_restart.

This will turn off the sound. If you fire the LG do you still get FPS drops then?

To turn sound back on just s_init 1 followed by snd_restart.

Also try r_dynamiclight "0" and see if that helps. I think the LG produces some light effects there. Shouldn't be necessary if you're already using vertexlight 1.
