    Using weapons.

SO I was wondering if there was anyway to make your weapon more effective.
For example where to aim with a rocket louncher etc.

Rockets will give you splash damage from floors and walls as well as from direct hits. But direct hits are more difficult, especially with a skillful dodger. So aim at their feet. The closer you hit, the more damage. Also it will knock them around making it difficult for them to aim back at you. If you knock them up in the air, you can switch to lg, rg or sg and finish them off. For lg or pg, try to aim using the strafe keys instead of moving the mouse.
    Sometimes I wonder...
"Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"
    Then it hits me.

mg - Spawning weapon, use only on a distance to snipe other players that have low HP. Don't underestimate the damage output.
sg - Perfect finishing weapon if you know the enemy's HP, switch to it if you know you will kill him with one shot, very surprising and effective.
gl - Learn to know those typical spamming points.
rl - Spam, corner fights, close quarters; rl is deadly, but wait for your shots and analyze enemy dodging pattern. Also, rather aim down than up (you won't hit from bottom to bridge for example, but the other way round is very effective). Another nice trick: enemy wants to go for a dropped/spawning item, so he goes there in a straight line, perfect for a full 100% rocket.
lg - You'll be able to do constant damage, so concentrate on dodging while aiming, perfect to punish players who don't dodge, those who go in straight lines and for jumppads/water etc...
pg - Try to limit using this one and keep it for situations when it's most effective. Close quarters, spamming corners if you rather want to run away with low HP and people going straight at you.

^ also the delay with GL (and prox mines sigh) means you can effectively attack from two directions at once...

Fire a grenade at a saucy angle, then whilst your opponent is dodging the bouncing bomb, you run in with a different weapon of your choice and make it harder for him to dodge the nade

totally, the sooner you start using weapons at their most efficient and combining weapons, the faster/better you'll get

Good videos, I found that for the first 30 or 40 games I had to play with mouse
sensitivity too but I've got it right around the top

You can do two things with rail from afar: wait rails and flick rails, excellent players like stermy use wait rails, they position themselves safely and click the mouse when the enemy goes through the crosshair, you need some prediction for this.

Then there is peek railing, you quickly look around the corner click, and jump back again. Advantage: little exposure unless the enemy is very close.

Also it is a great finisher weapon because it will deal full 80 hp damage on the model, compared to shotgun, with which you can hit anywhere between 5 and 100 dmg depending how well you aim and the distance between you two. With rail it is hit or miss obviously. Even if you don't finish the enemy off, it is useful to deal the maximum amount of damage if you switch to rail in the last moment in case the enemy is trying to retreat.

In teamgames rail can be useful to support the close proximity fighters from the side or distance (actually any weapon is more useful when the enemy doesn't concentrate on YOU). In duel, you use it to harass the enemy before it comes to a big fight.

Just to add, there are some very interesting discussion on esreality.com about some aspects of strategy and fighting as well, just beware of the trolls.

    google something like
    rail site:esreality.com
    dodge site:esreality.com

then some more or less useful results will come up, just browse through them

^ Also with rail I'd recommend a little bit of strafe aiming and almost certainly a +zoom bind (probably with different cg_zoomfov settings for different weapons) also for the larger ctf maps and most space maps it can be useful to be able to increase the zoomfov even more for rail.
