this would stop the flow of T4 players with alias accounts into T3 and unbalancing the game...so sick of playing 10-2 games.

Nothing terrible to play CA/Duel/etc 10-2. If you end up on first place for your team in netD, then it's nice. If you lost 8 frags in Duel - it's ok, because you did well, was able to frag opponent and maybe you just needed a little bit more aim or luck to gain control. Sometimes I am down by 20+ frags, but then if I realize I've made correct decisions, haven't had any tilt, it's just my opponent is "walking timer"/hits 60+ RG out of control, I am good with that.so sick of playing 10-2 games

You can enter any email you want when you register on QL. id really should make it where you have to verify your account before you can play. That might deter people from creating incalculable duplicate accounts.Originally Posted by vurun

If things were perfectly balanced, you'd lose 1/2 of all team games and 7/8 FFA games. Probably 1/2 of duels as well. But this is a decades-old game with a lot of very, very good players, which is going to make winning more than average more work.
Yes, new accounts for tier slumming can be a problem, but not in T4 or Unrestricted games.
winning or losing is not the problem...its having people that make multiple accounts every day and throwing the skill balance right out the window...I dont care if i win or lose I just want a good game..a game where one person is not dominating with a 50-70 point lead by the 5th round whilst every one else has 6-12 points....
I really do not see the point of having a tier system to make play fair when people can just get around it with an email like "slummer@slummer.com".....they may as well get rid if the tiers altogether.....it at least would be better to have a mix of skills the just one jerk slumming a server...
on the Australian we have about 10 to 15 players the make new accounts every week (daily in some cases)just to play t3 games...and the worst thing is that the new players that also start in t3 get put off by them and dont come back.

With the right attitude 10-2 is a good game.
In Australia's case a better solution would be to ban (with all measures) those 10-15 players that are creating accounts for tierslumming, instead of changing the whole system because of a small amount of people doing that in an specific location.
When Q3A was published, there was no such stupid thing as stats or tiers. So there were no stat-*****s/tier slummers. People just were realizing that the game they paid money for could actually kick their butts. That they can lose "to the game". That was PERFECT sense of a good game.
Today popstyle-achievement-hungry-stat-whoring gamers refuse to pay money for games that may be too hard for them. The want tiers so they would not need to get better, statistics to determine who's pecker is longer.
Those people who states they need MOAR tiers are just people who are unfamiliar with thinking process. Quake never needed tiers. Quake/UT always were games about personal skill, determination and ability to achieve perfection. If one was not up to this - he went to play some NFS.
Quake is hardcore type of game. Developers could not ignore the masses who wanted all this pop crap, but the paradox is that implementing this stuff actually making Quake worse though I realize it's vital for Q's survival.
So please, stop flaming and start playingGet to T4, where Quake actually starts (it's not hard tbh) and forget about stats, slummers and all that crap. Just hfhf.

tried to get them banned ..I have reported them,1 person did get banned,the just said"it was my brother boo hoo..let me back in.....the touted how he did over Ql staff and no one will ever get banned for slumming because all you need do is say it was someone else in the house you live in..
there is no point in having a tier system if it does not work.....so either get a real email system or get rid of the tiers..
and I will add that you guys keep talking about the way Quake was...well this is the new Quake..it is not Q3A...so get with the way it is now,not how it was.
