Having some issues with controls

For some strange reason I can't switch 3, 4,..... weapons, except for scrolling with a mouse. Can someone explain this to me?

I don't understand.

Do you mean that:

bind [key] "weapon 3"
bind [key] "weapon 4"

..and pressing these keys when you have the weapons you cannot select them? Yet you can with the scroll wheel?

That really doesn't make sense.

What if you just do "weapon 3" in the console, then can you select it?

Weapons 3 and 4 are the SG and GL respectively.
