CA quitters need to be punished!

I just recently started playing QL/CA again. And i can not find a single match that does not have someone who leaves. And i am not talking about leaving after you are dead when your team is about to lose the last round. And i am not talking about those guys connecting from the moon, playing with a 500ms ping until they get that timeout, as usual.

I am talking about those typical players who just decide to leave after one or two rounds. Because they find out that they are not in the winner team, because they rage quit or because they are super busy and did not know about their tight schedule 2 minutes ago, when they pressed F3.
Usually it takes 1 to 2 more rounds until one of the other side finally goes spec to make even teams, again.

If they do this all the time their profile will show their poor habits. But who cares?

I think it would be a fair solution to just forbid quitters to join any games for the next 30 minutes. If you have to quit playing for valid reasons you won't care, would you? But if you are one of those "this team sucks, ill just quit and join the next server" guys then you might think twice about quitting...

Either quit playing CA or quit worrying about it. QL is allowed to have casual players.

I'm sorry, but people have a life outside Quake Live. If you got kids, you probably know what I'm talking about. I play when I can, leave when I have to.

So how would my suggestion affect you? If your kids call you away from your computer 2 minutes after the game started you surely would not be affected by a enforced waiting period before you are allowed to join the next game?

If a player quits during a Duel, you have won, right? If a player quits during FFA nobody cares. But if you quit in CA the imbalance really sucks the fun out of the game.

In CA if a person leaves before the end of the game (say 10 rounds), are they being penalized now?
In QL Prism I can see my quits, so is that stat from leaving early?
If there simply losing the score they had, maybe they should lose double as the penalty?

I don't know, but I'm not in favor of a timeout, because if your a paying customer
that is not really fair either.

I think he mentions it because leaving in CA means that you're down an entire damage source and meat shield essentially.
In other gamemodes you can still carry while down a player if you're good enough.
(It's not as easy in CA since the objective is to stay alive)

Yeah, of course, this is exactly why quitters suck in CA.

Maybe it could be coded in a way that only enforces a wait time if your overall quitting percentage exceeds a certain number.

You see entire teams ragequit in modes like TDM. I think what you mean is "don't play public".
