Unless their ISP is bad. Then you'd end up with bad pings for all European players.

Metaspy, I agree with you. Your post is interesting, it would have been great to write it in English.

I'm curious to know the price of the previous FR QL servers. BTW it was not a good host, most french ISP had pathetic peering with it. I am sure ID could have reduced the price (if it was not sponsored of course) by choosing a decent host with good EU peering. We have plenty of it in France, maybe the cheapest in Europe, OVH for example.

Also, FR Q3 community was one of the strongest with DE & SE just before QL appeared. But ID, surely had its reasons, considering the stats they have we may not be so strong enough to have our own server. That's a shame.

    Service mindset

Does ID know latency (ping) is key while playing in a quake game?

Seriously, it cannot be serious to cut the service like that when guys pay yearly fees.

It does not make me confident especially on ID plans related to QL future..

    sponge,

I have connections with some french ISP that _may_ be interested in hosting french servers. Can you contact me with a list of requirements so I can try to see if it can happen, and then I let you finalize it?

    Regards,

    Stef

We need a server in Turkey. What can we do for a server? What is the server requirement?
Maybe I provide a physical server and good conneciton for us.

    Requirements:
    - physical server, good hardware, large memory (it will host like 80+ of game servers),
    - Debian installed,
    - sponge gets root.
    That's it :)

A friend working in telecommunications in Cyprus can supply a server, applied but never got one back. Would've helped with eastern mediterranean & north african countries. They don't care
