LG can also push the target its hitting.
IMO in QL LG has a ridiculous pushback (even more so with Q added) and it can hold a guy in the air with no effort at all.LG can also push the target its hitting.
Also LG has a delay so it can drag behind your crosshair - you have to stay on the move at all times to adjust.
Here's when the cg_truelightning comes into play:
cg_truelightning=1 IF ping=<100
cg_truelightning<1 >=0 IF ping>100
1 is a perfectly rigid stream dead set on crosshair and 0 is wobbly trailing one. Can help you immensely with LG.

Either that, or the LG just takes no skill, it's overpowered, and the first resort of players who are downright cheap. But hey, I'll be open-minded enough to try those strats you mentioned, and get back to you on it.

It is true it is the #1 weapon to stomp worse players though, because they have not found the A and D keys yet.
