QL Top Visual & Performance Settings Possible?

So years ago when I played all the Quake games,
visual/performance setting were all the rage.
We had to tweak everything to get the most
out of that 3DFX Monster card on that P150.

Those were the days...

Today, with high powered systems, hardware has outpaced
software in most applications.

But I'd still like to know, what settings can I mess with, if any,
to get maxed visuals?

I assume that this would mean adding things to a config file.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the "top" visual one would be by messing around with the Bloom settings from the default. I think everything else in the default tends to be at the max.

Use the "ultra quality" preset within the in-game GUI (escape/game settings tab/bottom right). That will give you the absolute max QL offers. From there as pika mentioned, go into the post process section and tweak bloom to your liking. GL

i find bloom setting slows down fps makes the game more like doom 3 so i turn it off also post processing , generally i let the nvidia settings control the video

That's not what was being asked though. They wanted to know what the highest visual settings are/how to get them. That would include having bloom and post processing on (Even though I personally think it looks horrible).
