I think we should be able to send messages to offline friends instead of only being able to tell your friend something when they are online. I am not suggesting we remove the live chat.

good message system would be nice
Take a look at steam, I think its working for years good...
Its pretty lousy that you have to use the console to write your friend lists ingame, or alt+enter for half screen windowed with that long loading times, after this always vid_restart..

It sucks that you have to use `, a predetermined reply bind, or Alt+Enter, but it's perfectly fine to use a glitchy Shift+Tab overlay that often doesn't stay visible and then requires either spamming it until it comes back up or closing the game entirely so you can play. Makes sense.good message system would be nice

If it's taking you a long time to Alt+Enter then there might be something wrong with your computer. It takes me less than a second for the entire thing to go from Windowed to Full Screen (other than when I'm connecting to a server).

Why CTF4 is bad
It takes me about a second or two to switch from windowed to fullscreen, but after that I always have to do vid_restart because screen is too bright after I switch to fullscreen.
Is it because of settings in the cfg are different from windowed to fullscreen? (I can't actually think if there's any that do this though)
