Red railguns

Hi,

i sometimes see red railguns... and if i'm not mistaken, unreal (and/or Q3?) had some cheat or extra weapon where the red rail killed instantly and the green just hurts like hell?!

Is it the same with these red rails or are they just using the settings to change their color?

No, the rail colors in Quake are only preference.

Just using settings to change the color.

The rail does the same amount of damage (80 HP) regardless of the color.

The color of your rail is determined by:

color1 - color of rail beam core <1-26>
color2 - color of rail disc/swirl effect <1-26>

Yep, orange shock rifle beam in instagib, while normal beam color was blue (UT) just being nostalgic
