Verizon and VA servers
I've encountered two other players on Verizon who are having horrible latency problems with VA servers for at least 2-3 weeks now. I used to ping 30-40 in Va, today has been ranging from 80-140 lately.
Just wondering if they are others who are suddenly having the same issue.
I also have verizon and my ping is aweful at VA. I used to ping 30-40. Now its over 80. Lately all the servers on the East Coast have been unstable. The DC server seems to be the best for me lately. Some times thats spotty too. My ping may start out at 40 at the beginning of a game and then at the end will be 80+.
Been having the same problem for a long time actually..about a year or more..i used to ping 45 to VA but now it just keeps jumping to 80 randomly all the time..same with NY and now DC..i used to ping around 50 to TX too, now it's around 90..chi used to be 55-60 now 65-70..even when the ping is low like 45-50 the game feels like total crap sometimes..i'm thinking about switching my isp..bright house is the only other good one available here..it's just not as fast as verizon and pretty much the same price..but i wouldn't care about the speed if the connection would be more stable..just not sure if it's worth it..
I also have this issue. It occurs on Alter.net once verizon hands it off?

I have opened multiple tickets with verizon, contacted them on twitter and also posted on the verizon support forums...so frustrating
I also have this problem. I should be pinging 20-30 on east coast servers, but it's like 120-180. Atlanta servers were the worst, pinging at 190ms. The problem appeared to have started around last weekend, because i had logged on and joined a server and it was lagging like crazy. Also I pinged with Command Prompt and here's what i got.
Pinging 184.108.40.206 with 32 bytes of data:

Hope it helps.
Looks like the issue started around when server hosts changed for VA?
So after 3 calls to verizon to look @ the alter.net routers (which they own) they finally opened a ticket with tier2. I am hoping that I can get them to resolve the latency issue that I believe is caused by 1 specific router owned by Verizon:
This was previously owned by MCI but believe Verizon bought a few years back. The domain and the arin for this all report back to Verizon Business so my hopes are high. I am waiting for them to call me back at this point, but I'm hoping that I can get a resolution for this. If they fix whatever issues this router is having I am sure that it will fix it for all of you experiencing the same pain I am.
Not sure what all that means but i hope it does fix the problem for you and everyone else..

So i have a question..is there anything specific you think i should mention that would make them understand the problem?..maybe if more people contact them about it they will take it more seriously..
Thanks Zoom i appreciate your effort, cuz it seems like no one else was gonna care. They were gonna wait for ID to do something, as if that would ever happen.
ID can't really do anything about it, other than change data centers for their hosting. Getting Verizon to do something is a horror show. I am doing what I can for selfish reasons because I can't play with 150ms, but at least it should help everyone else! haha
