I find it amazing how people have so much difficulty with the concept of q3 and ql being two seperate entities. Related perhaps, sort of like a second cousin twice removed.

Cool,Cool You guys should make more cool maps..![]()
You realize that this is essentially a thirteen year old game that thousands of people still play don't you? I think it is marvelous that ID released Quake 3 in this manner. I bought Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 all the day they were released. This is my favorite game of all time so it thrills me to see so many people playing it. If you want to buy the game, I'm sure you can find Q3 somewhere for retail and you can run around with a bunch of bots. Otherwise, play for free, or pay the couple of bucks a month to unlock everything. I like this subscription model. It beats the hell out of paying $10 subscription fee for a game you already had to pay $ 50 for.
Well if you played any of the mods (i.e Rocket Arena 3) then this is exactly the same game as Quake 3. Cloan Arena is an exact replica of RA3. the only difference is the consistent development. The physics in the game are almost identical to Q3 with a high majority of the maps coming from Q3 and its mods.
