Question When trying to run the game I get a black screen

I just downloaded and installed the QuakeLive plugin via firefox(18.0 - beta). When I try to launch the game I get a black screen and I have to reset.

    My spec's:

    firefox 18.0 (beta)
    Win 7 home premium
    Intel Core i7-2600K CPU
    XFX Radeon HD 6950

How would I be able to get the game to run ?

Everyone on Windows gets a long pause before games, so maybe you just need to wait longer? Or if you've waited really long (like a minute):

Maybe it's a problem with your full screen resolution?

Are your ATI drivers up to date (and from ATI and not Windows Update)?

If you press Alt+Enter, will it go back to window mode?

Or you can force game to start in window mode using a script like http://userscripts.org/scripts/review/134615 (needs GreaseMonkey or Scriptish). Maybe this way you can at least confirm if game even starts.

I was able to fix this issue by following the information posted in the topic linked to by adderall:
"Please use the website -> game settings to select 640x480, and then try the game, then use the in game menu (press escape) to select the actual resolution you wish to play."
