Hello, i have a suggestion about having the option to uploading profile photos. One that will appear on the profile/stats page, and the same one appears in-game next to your stats or whatever.
Would be sweet, Steam has done a pretty done job with this and alot of other games. Just thought it could be out there, because why not?
won't happen because id is way too conservative. Doesn't have to do with the esrb ratings but with what the company thinks the limits are, which is why common sense stuff is not implemented. For examples with a similar or even younger audicience see LoL, which is aimed at pre-teens yet gets all the things that were dismissed on QL for that reason, or steam itself.

LoL doesn't allow custom images. The only "custom" thing that you can do to your profile in LoL is putting in a short status.

Sure but they have every other single thing requested on this site that is related to making proper use of the game being on a website.
Like what? A short status? There's practically nothing customizable other than that. Sure, there's summoner icons, but they're all generic.

Why CTF4 is bad
"Things that were dismissed from QL because the company is way too conservative" goes beyond player profiles. Best examples are embedding streams on the client and site (that aren't quakecon. Reasoning is id cannot control content), global chat (same) and promoting players/teams (LoL players earned thousands of dollars in advertising due to having more viewers because of this).
Everything is way too controlled on this game to the point some things simply cannot be discussed on the official forums (latest example is on the december 17th patch thread, danstar's post) and id's team sometimes does its best to not allow community efforts (qlranks is a prime example. Tracking is blocked so they do a workaround), whereas in LoL it is the complete opposite even when it is targeted at a younger audience.
I've said it like 10 times already, but people that aren't in the scene (more like just type www.esreality.com and read) simply cannot know all what's happening and configurations that make the game 10x more alive than what it seems from the official website.
edit: To be more concrete, this year had the least amount of major events so far but there were like 10 anyway and people only knew about 2 (quakecon and legends cup). More than that what is remarkable is there are at least 2 cups going on every single day with prize money but it's "hidden", plus all the tdm activity (26th clan based eurocup ended last week, #tdmpickup too), ctf and so on. Literally there's something to watch in quake 24/7 (qlranks stream) and about 6 hours of cup streams on weekdays in which everyone can sign up too, which is the type of stuff that gets featured in LoL but here we cannot even speak about that without getting banned.
Id's policies are simply absurd and not only on this game, but those most probably are shots called by the general management (Todd) instead of the employees in charge of the game (Syncerror) that circumvent those by using twitter (0 followers), facebook (0 comments) and the official forums (0 replies. ESR has 20x more activity than this), all 3 that most probably would be deleted if Todd finds out. Sure the employees did some very bad calls (remember the queues to play in 2008 and 2009 that caused like 80% of accounts not to play once, last month with zeroql getting unbanned for personal reasons, or literally putting 0 money into getting the game in events?) but most of those are from upper management therefore will always continue to happen.
