Finally some Q2 maps in QL, those maps are very welcome as I'm concerned. Even Quake II celebrating 15 years (\o\ -> /o/ -> \o/) since it's been released, Winter's Edge should stay in the map pool until the end of the holidays because that map is holiday map and it's really nice especially for FT and players like it a lot including myself. Not much left of holidays so please consider all requests.

Why remove them? At the very least, those of us paying for QL should get to keep playing them.The Edge ... (and Warehouse), and will be available through the new year.
Both are available for premium and pro users, right now. That's what the update was about.
My only problem with it is that most probably they will remove the "winters edge" version of q2dm1 after the xmas season. Why wouldn't they just give players the option to spawn servers with both versions since "winters edge" was already downloaded by all players anyway (so no bandwidth usage)
My point is, with the way ID worded it, The Edge and Warehouse are just temporary. Come next year they go away for everyone.
Bring back Winter's Edge, it's Christmas time!
"Through the new year" means the maps will be available even after New Year's is over, albeit they may return to Premium status once that happens, until a future map rotation at least 3 months into the future happens to pick it up. They will stick around, they just won't be available for Standards after New Year's.
