    Demo tools?

Are there any working programs out there to view demos? I tried QLDT, but it keeps crashing every time as it starts.

Just in case you didn't know; you can use QL itself.
    /demo demoName
Go into your QL demo directory to find the one you want (or put a demo there so you can watch it).

You can only fast forward or slow-mo, and there's no pause.. although timescale 0.000001 goes about slow enough to be considered paused. Timescale 0 doesn't work, and be very careful with it as it can cause the game to freeze in many circumstances.

It's done with timescale yes, and since you can't hit most keys during demo playback I have this in my config:

bind F6 "+acc" // show accuracy during demos
    bind F5 "+scores" // scoreboard during demos
bind pgdn "timescale 1" // normal playback speed
bind pgup "timescale 10" // Fast forward
bind ins "timescale 0.5" // Half speed
bind del "timescale 0.25" // Quarter speed (great for lg research)

With wolfcam however you have many more options. I'm sure there's a pause feature, and you can rewind and jump so many seconds.

    For example just \rewind 10

    rewinds 10 seconds

Wolfcam also works offline of course, so if all you're going to be doing is watching a demo it's a great way to go.

you can pause in wolfcam. wolfcam works w/o ever touching your quakelive settings, so you dont have to worry about losing your current cfg
