Do i need a mousepad?

I have a optical mouse. Do I need a mousepad? Will it improve performance? I currently use it on cardboard.

A good mouse and a mousepad helps. You won't be a pro, but it'll help some, and it won't hold you back from improving like a poor mouse and lack of pad will.

If you're just goofing and having fun, no you don't need it.

Goliathus is way overrated. I went through a crapton of pads before I found one that could compare to the better hard surfaces out there.

A mousepad is highly recommended. As FlashSoul said it won't immediately jack up your skill rating, but it helps nonetheless.

Cloth pads are good and cheap. They're generally less expensive than hard surface pads, require less maintenance, and will probably last longer. I use an "XTRAC PADS Pro" cloth pad..
