full screen freak out

Hello quake team, iam sending this as a noob 1 yr on line player. My settings r all 4 my specifications but when i went to live this morning,sat, even though my settings r telling me, i am still on full screen. However, all I have is one square photograph sized arena dead centre of monitor, and your grey quake arena colour covering 70percent of screen?
How can I get it back? pls help, I love to play

Alternatively you could type in the console: cg_viewsize 100
