He did say some nice things about the QL community in his 'good-bye' - which was great to hear.
A 6 minute documentary of Poland's Maciej 'Av3k' Krzykowski (done in 2010 in Poland).
Jump to the 2 minute mark if you want to see where he is first shown on screen.

I remember some of his epic stuff versus Toxic, Cooller, Cypher, K1llsen, etc. over the years.
Wasn't he just a teen when he defeated Fat a few times?
Fun times and good stuff.
Have a prosperous life av3k and thanks for the Quake career!

First Cooller and now this, wow. Kinda emotive his speech and retire from av3k but like i read somewhere looks like hes just disappointed for the loss against rapha, hope hes making the right decision. Anyway great player gonna miss him for sure.
... nice speech.. i saw that he got a bit emotional, i understand, ... it is hard to announce you quit something u loved/love for so long.
Anyways... thanx avek for all the boss quake moves he showed us, during some quite intense matches. TNX FOR ALL THE SHOW!
... you will never quit quake.
Not a fan of his play-style and besides he wasn't very mannered.
Although, if rapha or evil quit i would be sad.
Aways ensure you are maintaining a high FPS rate in QL. Otherwise you can be at a big disadvantage. To find out your current fps rate, use the command: "set cg_drawfps "1"".
Where do you put czm and jibo then. Both are phds btw.
and rapha wanted to retire as soon as high signed up for uni (his words), but he missed the sign ups...twice. Very bad timing considering he is rapha lol (or wasn't accepted or something).
edit a day after: rapha said yesterday that he will continue attending quakecon and dreamhacks if he has the time to aim for #1
