Lifting the mouse? Everyone does, you possibly do it every second or two without noticing. I can't imagine what sort of sensitivity and strange places you'd end up in if you didn't lift the mouse at all.

I'd bet a lot of maps tend to be biased in some way towards moving the mouse a certain direction, so it would be impossible to go the whole game without lifting the mouse once.
Aways ensure you are maintaining a high FPS rate in QL. Otherwise you can be at a big disadvantage. To find out your current fps rate, use the command: "set cg_drawfps "1"".

I'm guessing your talking about their constant small flicking? I think it's one of the under utilized skills by some of the pros in quake. Compare cooller to walter. Walter will rarely lift his mouse up and this makes his movement seem "smooth" whereas cooller is always lifting it up where ever possible and centering his mouse to the mouse pad. Imo while walter's movement looks smoother it adds no advantage and i find it rather a disadvantage because what happens if you get in a lg fight and you are holding your mouse to the edge of the mousepad?

it's just mouse accel and a combo with a flick shot

also bf3 snipers love dragshotting, except they don't use mouse accel
    examples here

or just some good mouseaim and a bit of flicking from raysteinerz

quakers shud play bf3, it requires a lot more mouseaim than quake.
I have 67% sniping acc in bf3, mad?

that's me, but don't compare me to the two above videos, those are montages >:|
that was just 1 game from me

bf3 teaches you mouse flicking good if you practice with snipers.
quake live doesn't really ever require you to do that, but ofc I do that.
CS also teaches you good reflex practice.

k1llsen seems to be one of the few players who practices his flickshots consistently.

    You die.
BUT, "I ran out of mousepad" sure is an awesomely cool excuse.

BF3 takes more mouse aim than quake? Are you smoking crack? The game is like a quarter of the speed and movement is more predictable. It doesn't take more mouse aim, you can just be more effective if all you have is mouse aim.

Listen, jigglywiggly is a troll. I just automatically went over his post without even reading it. There is no point to his posts ever, trust me. Every second you spend on them is a waste of your life.

XSL, I think all of the top players move like this to an extent, they just snap exactly into the precise angle they want in a fraction of a second. Meanwhile someone of much lesser skill takes things a lot more smoothly. It's one of the biggest things you notice when looking at a top player vs an average player, the millisecond twists they do to the perfect angles they want.

It's much easier to gauge the trajectory of your opponent when you're not moving your mouse imo. It's probably why most air rockets are mostly flick shots rather than smoothly aiming

bro I can shaft and rail any1
    mad?

also lol at all the bf3 haters
games take different skills, drag shotting is heavy in bf3 with precision aiming at long range sniping
CS is reflex and twitch heavy
    quake is strafe aiming heavy

also lol you are tier 4 at CA. My skill rating in CA is 650+
I can take any of you 1v1 thunderstruck
    my mouseaim is better
    mad?

smooth aiming is not noobish, it's different styles of aiming.
E.g yz50 the best aimer in all of quake and tf2 has the smoothest aiming, and when necessary he will move his mouse faster.

Generally his aim is smooth though, he has the best control.
