    What happened to Quake Live?

So the title of the thread needs to be answered:

What in the world happened to Quake Live?

I have been gone the past 6-7 months from the game, taking a break and playing other online games at the moment. But I haven't been REALLY follwing the QL community in a while. I REALLY don't mean to sound like I'm trolling here, I really don't, but heres a list of what I see different:
    • Absolutely no CTF pub games?
    • Almost all servers are empty in America?
    • Can't even vote a map?
    • 30 second video ads?
    • No automatic renewal on premim/pro memberships?(I just noticed this happened to my account)
    • Can't even duel without Premium/Pro accounts?
    • Everything seems to be, gone.

If you guys can answer this question for me, THAT WOULD BE GREAT

    If not, well, cheers,

    nvz

And on 09.18.11, CAC's prediction was, and i quote,
"game is going offline in a year. mark my words" (referring to QL)

And in another thread that same day (09.18.11)
    CAC predicted, and i quote,
"the game is shutting down in one year" (again referring to QL)

Did anyone bet the troll poster(s) on this?

Money talks, walks. Been over a year. Pay up or shut up.

1999 called - they still want to know when trolls will grow up.

You play more than 1 gametype though and aren't tier 4 in every gametype you play. You able to see more servers than the tier 4 players as you see both tier 3 and tier 4 servers. Tier 4 NA CTF is the main issue with people usually.

Same for me in t4 ffa and t3/4 ca. Actually sometimes (gasp) all the close ffa servers are full and I have to go further away to play.
    Sometimes I wonder...
"Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"
    Then it hits me.

    Unless you play pickups.

In the end the game is better than ever....for subscribers, and that's the way it should be just like all "freemium" games.

If you play pickups you're playing with literally the same people over and over again and you can't just go in to have fun. You have to wear your "tryhard pants" all the time. Any attempt at a "fun game" is met with harassment from the other players.

Just played my first game of quake live and if you think this is a pay2win game you're wrong. If you want to see a real pay 2 win game then search up bfp4f which you should not play at all.

Or look at Offensive Combat. (Also, I don't think anyone's ever said it was "Pay to Win". I think they've been whining that it's "Pay to Do Anything" because they're not taking effective steps to fix it)

Pickup games are fun, but I'm busy hosting another PUG community for another game. I just like to jump in on the PUB fun on QuakeLive, or just duel.
