Isn't this whole idea just encouraging the top FFA players to avoid playing on the same servers as each other? Having the best time isn't really confirming much about the skill of that player, but rather just mocking the rest of the server as having the worst dodge/no-one else able to pick up Quad for the first couple of spawns.

Let's get philosophical. We want to know what constitutes the best FFA player, so we knock up a tournament to decide that. All FFA players play in it and the best FFA player wins. Then it comes down to structure. Who plays who and what counts towards a goal.

FFA has always been about frags, not about time. This is just a different way of looking at FFA and those really fast runs are fun to watch. This is me, producing entertainment and making something worth achieving.

When I reinstate a regular tournament for FFA it will be score based and time won't be a factor, at least not to begin with.

Of course for the runs to be quick, there can't be much of a competition.
