    pay per single month

After waiting a long time to be able to buy one single month at a time i noticed ID finally added it. then i looked at it only to realize that it was big middle finger to all of us meaning, ok you want only one month? you can pay twice as much then. i wanted to buy it at after alot of the maps went premium (another middle finger to us) but since they want $8 (2x price) per single month i wont buy it at all. just wanted to say thanks ID keep up the good work.

Transaction costs is the same whether you buy 1 month or 12 months. Also, as in all other places in this world we live in, a longer commitment ensures to have to pay lesser.

Sounds like you never bought a subscription for anything before. Magazines, templates for websites, shared web hosting service such as rapidshare, hell even porn does the same. They all follow the same model, like Ph4nt0n said "a longer commitment ensures to have to pay lesser. "

no i didnt want it to be $1 i wanted it to be the normal $4. any money at all helps because buying premium/pro is more of a donation then buy since you dont own anything. if they want to maker high prices to keep loyal players from buying and restricting maps its there decision. just dont blame the players or piracy when the company fails. goodtry on the trolling tho and congratz on avoiding extermination in the holocaust

1 month of Premium subscription costs $3.99 there goes the normal $4

    Did you want Pro? lol

Consider adding processing fees in the future for any subscription you may want to acquire.

Just like any forum, there are lots of fanbo(y)s around who just wave the flag and run over the cliff like the sheep in front of them did. Don't sweat it too much.

The monthly subscription is a good step in the right direction, which I don't think anyone who replied to you acknowledged. I agree the price was too much, but incentives should exist to encourage a longer subscription. So it probably should have been the pro-rated price of $3.99 + transaction cost + 20%, or just call it $5.99.

Seriously, did they hire a 5th grader to run their company or what?

    This is not rocket science.

Here's what I found in about 10 seconds on Wiki:

Interchange fee is a term used in the payment card industry to describe a fee paid between banks for the acceptance of card based transactions... interchange fees are typically a flat fee plus a percentage of the total purchase price (including taxes). In the United States, the fee averages approximately 2% of transaction value

If this is too confusing for you, here is an example:

For one example of how interchange functions, imagine a consumer making a $100 purchase with a credit card. For that $100 item, the retailer would get approximately $98. The remaining $2, known as the merchant discount[10] and fees, gets divided up. About $1.75 would go to the card issuing bank (defined as interchange), $0.18 would go to Visa or MasterCard association (defined as assessments), and the remaining $0.07 would go to the retailer's merchant account provider. If a credit card displays a Visa logo, Visa will get the $0.18, likewise with MasterCard. Visa's assessment is fixed at 0.1100% of the transaction value and MasterCard's assessment is fixed at 0.0950% of the transaction value. On average the interchange rates in the US are 179 basis points (1.79%) and vary widely across countries. In April 2007 Visa announced it would raise its rate .6% to 1.77%

If this is still too confusing for you, let me explain:

"Processing" Fees Will Not Double Cost

    Class dismissed!
