Man, I truly sometimes want to ram my face through my monitor. Syncerror, I do understand what you're going through boss. How does one fix something like this?

Ghandi once said, be the change you want to see in the world.

I reckon, when I've got some spare time, i'll make an opinionated thread with the precedent of intelligent discussion, seeing as no one actually wants to debate the central idea of the thread, and instead want to turn it into a tongue-wagging contest.

    So metaphoric of the status quo that it hurts;

    make all maps free for
    ffa
    instagib
    ctf

make anyone who wants to play the more serious modes become at least a premium member(CA, tdm, duel, capturestrike :P)
drop premium price 10 bucks to 15 a year
have free premium mode weeks for the non-payers so they can try it out sometimes

casual people will get to enjoy the game at it's full glory, which will in turn make them want to play more, which will in turn create more hardcore players(subs) and more ad revenue

Why do you consider CA more serious than CTF? CTF is more difficult to become a top player in for sure.

CA is definitely more serious/difficult at the pub level(space map ctf, anyone)
plus CA isn't really fun unless you have decent aim, anyone can have fun in ctf.
i also think more CA players would pay for the sub than ctf players.

Ok, that was my daily "laugh at some idiotic post on the forum". Glad I got that out of my system.

CTF is WAAYYYY harder than CA. Maybe you should try playing it some time because you make some stupid assumption.

i played a lot of pub ctf in q3
on most maps i could literally walk the flag back to capture it, that's how easy it was. couldn't do that in space map, but winning there wasn't a challenge either.
never touched it in quakelive, so i don't know if things have changed.
disagree all you want, im just going by with what i saw.

It all depends on the level of your opponents. CA with people that bad is a laugh as well.

Which is "nothing" since you said yourself that you've never played it in QL. QL isn't Q3.
