New voting system!

New voting system is awful. We're unable to get a 1v1 with desired map going unless one has pro account. If this decision was made to make more players pay for pro account its a poor one. If it was made to prevent same maps to circulate, its very poor indeed. What were experiancing is loss of control. I CANNOT PLAY normally anymore. I don't want to play a map which gets randomly picked by the server. What is this? World of warcraft?
Quake has lots of good maps, but it also has some of the most horrable map creations to date.

Its never was a free game, quakeLive! Even if I am on a free account i still contribute to clicks on the website. Why the **** would I stare at the comercials when I cant even play the map i want.

There are quite a few quake mods which players can turn to.
Take CPMA for example.

I belive this is an opinion that a large mass of players has. Server chats are filled with compalints.
In fact I am certain that playerbase will lower in following weeks if this new system doesnt get pulled.
It's not about showing them, its about voicing an opinion.

A lot of people feel similarly n3ux, and there are many threads about it.

There isn't much that can be done about it really. The devs heard all of these arguments before they implemented it, or very shortly after. They are aware many players are unhappy about it. However they look at statistics, such as server populations and the number of new subscriptions. The hope is that these numbers tell them that this was a bad idea.

However I heard that they've had an increase in subscriptions since the update, so it doesn't look good :-/

sure thing, but not many will fall for it, many subbers will not renew - and if u can grab content .. maps/modes.. but no players are there watchya gonna enjoy?

the decision was obviously a fail and tbh they should have done this right after beta, making this drastic change now cannot be good.

It's far too early to say this decision was a fail... far too early.

In actuality, the decision to revoke call-voting on standard servers was a good decision on ID's part. The simple fact is that ID was far too lenient with standard (FREE) accounts for too long, allowing these subscribers virtually full rights to play Quake Live with very very very limited restriction. This led to an enormous pack skating by on a 'free' account because they realized they didn't really need to pay for a premium account because standard allotted them all the features they desired.

Be grateful the free ride lasted as long as it did.

what do you mean be grateful ? i paid in the past and the game always lived from the non-prem activity, what it is now is a complete joke.
