Quake + Windows XP = Crash

Quake crashes in Windows XP after several minutes of gameplay. Occurs on every attempt. Entire OS is locked up and must turn off power to reboot.

Well I wouldn't say that it's the combination of XP and QL, because I've been playing QL on Windows XP for about two to three years.

XP user here, everything is fine for me.

How does it crash? Does it just freeze? Are you getting repeating sounds, or do you get an error? Does ctrl+alt+delete to force close the program not work?

That's obvious hardware problem. Etc, overheating or bad PSU
    There's no better place than (127.0.0.1) HOME. . .

I agree with them, it a hardware / overheating issue. I have always used xp for ql and have no issues. Once i did have a similar issue to yours, the fix for me was a can of air to the heat sink. I was overheating. What does the event viewer say?
