    Doubt with cg_zoomsensitivity after m_cpi

    Hi guys!

Just a quick question. I have configured my settings for 30cm/360 with the new m_cpi cvar like this:

    m_cpi 450 - (ie 3.0)
    sensitivity 12
    in_mouse 2
    cg_fov 105
    accel 0

According to http://kyto.dez.fi/ql/zoomsens/index.php to use a cg_zoomfov 60 my cg_zoomsensitivity should be 6.34 but that is way too much. Am I missing something here?.

    Thanks in advance

The IE 3.0 sensor is listed at 400 CPI.

That zoomfov calculator most likely doesn't take into account m_cpi, so if you put in sensitivity 12 you will get an erroneous value.

    12 degrees/cm is 30 cm/360, or sensitivity 3.4636363636363647 with m_yaw 0.022 assuming no other influences.

Putting in these numbers instead you get: zoomfov 1.8286962419294

However if you are migrating from Q3 (I assume this is the purpose of that calculator?) and simply wish to use the Q3 zoom algorithm, all you have to do is set cg_zoomSensitivity to 0 which switches over to the old code.

    Thanks for the quick answer.

cg_zoomSensitivity 0 did the trick, it feels great. I guess I picked up that calculator while reading the forums and I didn't use it properly.

    I don't know about IE 3.0 DPI though, if I use m_cpi 400 sens 12 it is not 30cm/360 but around 27.5. Instead with 450 gives exactly 30cm/360 :?.

It could be 450 CPI. Use what works.

    Controversy was discussed here:
