i think capitalism is what is letting quake survive & grow. Look at it this way, its easy to budget 25 bucks a year, it gives the dev's a revenue stream. Since when did we all get so ****ing entitled to think we should get all of their hard work for free? I'm gladly paying to support ID software as I have since 1996. Hopefully this incoming revenue will allow them to afford those new servers in places, to get more support staff, to have more backup hardware! Oh and to take a vacation - its deserved, thanks ID.

You seem to have missed the bit where it points out that it's billed annually. So you pay the once for the year then can forget about it, at least for the year.
