I hope this information helps someone.
    YESPLZTHANKYOU!
I didn't even restart FF, I just emerged x11-libs/libXxf86dga in a shell and QL started installing on it's own in my FF window.

Had the same problem on gentoo w/ firefox and installing x11-libs/libXxf86dga fixed the first part of my problem. The second part was, that I still had some references in my ff profile to an old quakelive plugin and after removing all of them, and installing plugin again, everything worked.

Yeah, I am having the issue myself, it keeps asking me to install the plugin, although it is installed.
I am running Arch Linux, FF 14.0.1, and GNOME3, with that previously mentioned X11 lib.
    Any ideas?

Same problem here, Gentoo, Firefox 14. The plugin installs then whenever I log in it just goes to the plugin install screen (but the "click here to install" link is just an empty one) and says "your version: none" on the info bit.

Any ideas? Worked a while ago but that might have been FF13.

    Same problem like @Gentoo64

I've got Gentoo too and I tried on FF10 and FF15 using precompiled version.

About six months ago, it worked.

I'm having this problem too. Win 7 64 bit IE 9 and Google Chrome. When I login I accept the EULA download the plugin, install, just sits there. Everytime I login I have to accept the EULA again. My old laptop it worked fine, played about a month ago.

I've tried running IE in Administrator role, no luck.
