This weekend's DevPick is rather conveniently timed, as it was announced that Quake was removed from the index in Germany today. This week's DevPick is Retro FFA: a remix of weapons and player physics.
On the physics side, some additional air acceleration has been added to speed things up. Players spawn with all weapons, including the Nailgun, which has been modified to shoot a bit more like the nailguns of yore. You don't have a lot of ammo, though, so the nailgun shoots a bit slower to compensate. Rockets and shotguns shoot a bit faster and more powerful. Lightning faces the biggest change, doing 14 points of damage per cell, but shoots far less often.
Retro FFA is now running worldwide all weekend. Also on this day, a happy birthday to Quake 3 Arena, which was released 12 years ago today: December 2, 1999! Have a great weekend!
