Please, ffs, i love my buddies, but sometimes the spam + ingame lag is way too annoying.

Edit 02. Nov 10: dear iD, many of us are paying customer, and it's getting seriously unplayable. Why the hell did i buy Pro, if i can't enjoy playing on my own server due way too much FL spam?

Edit #2 02. Nov 10: possibly a known bug, but getting FF freezed by chat spam in the middle of a game - awesome.

Edit #3 21. Feb 11: still no good news or any reply from id, for people with a friendlist and / or a lot of private games no hope in sight ... :/

The "XY has come online" notification could really get a cvar, so it could be turned off. Have been mentioned countless times through beta.

Well, there were many threads, but id still ignores this problem. I started to shrink my friendslist and already deleted more than 100 (!) players, but those messages still give me horrible lags. Guess I have to continue to delete people, bye-bye.

many people notice that problem for more than a year already, and still nothing done.
its still not possible to deactivate the useless ingame notification, neither the friendlist at all.

DEAR iD, PLEASE... it cant be that hard.

in the few seconds of an endscreen i get sometimes like 20 xyz off and on messages. thats kinda annoying, no matter what.

Also an invisible mode would be GREAT, somedays u just dont want to talk or play with any of your friends, or maybe you dont want to share what you are doing.

id's never really been into creating cool user interfaces... always been part of their charm. I don't have enough friends for it to be a problem, but I don't understand my need to know CoW is online, and offline, and online again at all, let alone 3 state changes in 12 seconds. I only need to see where friends are in the game browser... when I'm looking for a game.
