Did you even read that thread I linked for you? I explained where the problem has to be (X/libGL/drivers) and neither of you two even said what hardware and drivers you're on...

to tell u the truth it is me im just afraid of being judged i Made this my last and offical account.... heres my graphics card but for some reason some games I play dont have the same problem as I do with quake

Graphics Driver: nVidia Corporation NV18GL [Quadro NVS 280 SD] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA Controller]) and I got Libgl1-mesa-dri, Libgl-mesa-dri-experimental, Libgl1-mesa-glx. Idk if theres more but yeah sorry for the inconvenience

I guess you're using nouveau driver then? I suggest installing proprietary drivers from nVidia. I don't know how it's done in Mint, so look in their documentation.
