    Thumbs up QLPrism: The Lightweight Quake Live Stand-Alone Launcher Bundle

    Hey guys, I put this package called QLPrism together for people who have been wanting to try out Mozilla's Prism and Quake Live but were unsure how to configure it, etc. This basically bundles Prism and QuakeLive with a few extra goodies in an all-in-one package. After installation, simply double click the icon on your desktop to play. This could definitely be useful if you've been having problems with a browser like Chrome recently and/or you're too lazy to setup Prism. Or if you just want to try something different. Available for Windows and Linux.

    Important Links
    QLPrism official site, documentation, and download
    Official QLPrism forum. Ask for help there, not on QL forums.

    Current version: 4.40, released August 02, 2013

    HELP! QLPrism crashes after every second game! -- To fix: ( note: procedure is slightly different as of November 29, 2011 )

    If you have an Nvidia graphics card, and you have this specific problem (able to load the game once, then when you quit, Prism crashes if you try to load the game again, so you must restart) try this:

    Go to :

    Nvidia control pannel ->
    Manage 3d settings ->
    Program Settings ->

    And add an exception for the "quakelive.exe" file in your QLPrism\xul directory (Changed: v4.33, Nov. 29, 2011) NOT the "quakelive.exe" file in the QLPrism\ directory.

    "Threaded Optimization" to OFF

    This should solve the problem and does not negatively effect QuakeLive's 3d performance.

    Nice one. I've been using Prism for Quake Live as well.

    The people that d/l this app (QLPrism) are aware of what it comes with and the work that went into making it.

    For those that object to the add on..like you.. simply d/l Prism itself and modify it to your liking.

    Just to let others know: If you use Norton antivirus you'll need to turn it off temporarily because it blocks it from downloading due to not enough people having the download yet.

    Hey everyone. I just made an important update to QLPrism. I just added a feature where you can now manually enter the URLs to join games. This is extremely important for those of you who play pickup games. Regular Prism does not have this feature as far as I know. Grab the updated installer at http://www.syncore.org/qlprism/

    May I ask how you did that?
    I've had my Quake Live Prism app all set up and cool for a year so I don't really want to download yours now, I'd just like to know how to enable that.

    Oh, okay, don't mind answering. I dl'd it and I see you're just using Jason Miller's script too.
    I thought you found a native way.

    Fixed a bug where some links would open in the default browser instead of Prism. Re-download if you want
