Mouse is unresponsive

A lot of people are talking about a new mouse sensitivity issue, but my problem is even worse. My mouse just simply isn't responsive. I cannot turn or shoot in game because of this issue. I know it isn't my mouse itself because i useit regularly for many different games. But in Quake Live i can move my mouse all around and left click all i want but i won't turn or shoot. AND get this. if i go to the in-game menu, my mouse works. How can i fix this problem.

try in_mouse 2 in console.

ctrl + alt + ~ key in the game
