DevPick July 22-25: InstaGib RailJump

This weekend's DevPick features the simply-named RailJump. As the name implies, by looking down, and firing your Railgun, the player doing such is awarded with a gentle push in the general direction of their shot. Unlike rockets, however, you aren't harmed by the shot, and you receive roughly the same amount of boost as long as you're within railjumping range. Railgun speed has also been boosted to 1 second per shot, to allow for more interesting double and triple jumps.

RailJump is now running worldwide, in two delicious flavors: FFA and CTF, and will be running all weekend, so check it out and have fun bouncing around! Have a good weekend!

Also anyone have any tips to get on the top floating platform on the map "Beyond Reality" with rail jumping?

I like the railjumps and insta-gaunts, but they should have a place of their own, and need to stay with specific servers. For the ones of us that like insta-rail the way it's always been, these changes have hurt the game play and brought down the skill level to an extent. The insta-rail mod was about strafing and accuracy and now there are soo many noobs running around with their gaunts out because they can't aim, that everything else is worthless. Not to mention all the gaunt scripts being used. Would like to have servers set to just the old settings and left alone. Just my opinion. If there is another thread about this, please direct me there.

maybe ill add a railjump section to my map

IU 1.1 settings: ( both close to rocket launcher)
seta weapon_reload_rg "750"
seta g_railjump "500"

iu 1.2 had non-instant flag return, and rail-reload went faster down to 300 after a railjump,

also other mods had the possibility to have one player return a flag, and score (holding two flags at the sametime)

nice news, only need split cvars between Railgun AIM reload and Railgun RAIL JUMP reload - this is will be brilliant and i goin to buy every premiums to run server for friends xd
