    Quake 3 Fortress Gamemode

Back in the early 2000's, there was a Quake 3 mod called Quake 3 Fortress which was an extremely popular mod for Q3 that was a remake of Quake World Team Fortress.

I think that this gamemode would be extremely popular in Quake Live. The best part of Q3F was that it could be played by new players in a pub environment as well as in highly competitive games and in leagues.

It would have the potential to be enjoyable for new players as well as old quake players and fortress players.

Please id software, consider creating a Fortress mod for Quake Live... Currently it is the only way TRUE fortress gameplay will live on

If it was made as a premium or pro only gamemode I would purchase it no questions asked. I know many people who would also do this.

The only TF-mod I've played except for TF2 is http://www.fortress-forever.com, was a lot of fun when it was released, but I don't think anyone plays it anymore, TF2 took all the players when it was released.

I think that it will be really hard for id to compete with TF2, especially since it's free-to-play now. But I still think it would be nice to see a TF mod for QL, the movement in TF2 is not very exciting at all and there is no grenades which I thought was fun in Fortress Forever.

I dont really think it would have a hard time competing with TF2. TF2 is a slow-paced game for console gamers while Q3F is a fast-paced high competitive game that works well in public play and league play.

I think the question is if it actually will bring any new players, if it wont the only thing that will happen is that the relatively small player base of QL will be divided even more which is the usual argument in these cases. It could be worth a try, but TF is not exactly the only gamemode suggestion that has been made, I think more people would want to see DeFRaG.

TF is really fun and I would like to see it with proper physics, grenades, no critical strikes and no unbalanced weapons. Valve probably own the rights for all the classic maps though..

Couldn't agree more with this! Q3F was absolutely fantastic.

Played a little Quake 3 fortress, Nothing bet the oldschool Quakeworld TF Tho I think if they brought that mod in the amount of new players would be huge - and ill actually find a reason to renew my pro subscription. It basically combines the two favourite mods in ql atm (Clan Arena and CTF) so how could this not be the way to go! Look into it id!
