What do you mean what.
If the enemy is too close you'll inflict self damage if you use RL. "Close range" refers to "the range of an enemy in your face", where it is better to use SG or PG. Exceptions include not having other weapons obviously, positional play where you rely on the RL to bounce the player off the item, and if you're heavily stacked and choose not to let the fight drag, then aim to the floor and blast away.
hey everybody
i tried out your force spawning script. i found the commands and typed them in the console.
but when i spawn bots they start attacking and are not still as they were in your video.
i thought that the problem is i haven't typed in /devmap qzdm13
but when i did it wrote me "can't find maps/qzdm13.bsp
any tips?

they changed the mapnames. Try:
/devmap lostworld
thx for the guide and all the work put into it! Really good help to get some of the basics and information (about gameplay, weapon strengh in numbers...) i haven't found somewhere else yet.
I'm sure it'll help improve gameplay and fun while playing
LG issue:
If you use the lg like it is written than it is predicted from the beginning who will die! If both using lg only with strafing and without moving mouse then both will hit each other always and the same amount if there are directly infront of each other. So only strafing helps nothing. You need to use your mouse in a special aay to get more accuracy than our opponent!
