    Show keypresses

I have remade yatar's keypresses hud with the new alias system, making it a lot simpler

    link

Could be useful for making movement tutorial videos.

See my sig for an example of it in use.

Also, here is yatars original one (since the original thread has disappeared) that allows recording demos with keypresses in, but it is pretty buggy.
Includes my custom HUD from my sig video

    link

I haven't checked the new alias version very thoroughly, so any feedback would be appreciated if you find an error.

People should see the keypresses I use when I make threads. I'm gonna make a fragvideo of forum posts.

Very nice. Pity that it doesn't work in demos though =[

I've installed this to the QL home directory but when i type in \exec showkeys.cfg in the console it says "couldn't exec showkeys.cfg". Any ideas what might be going wrong?

    This is what I have in AppData\LocalLow\id Software\quakelive\home\ :

    baseq (folder)
    pb (folder)
ui (folder - from the zip)
    showkeys.cfg
    hidekeys.cfg

daffrey, the *.cfg files need to be in quakelive/home/baseq/ and all UI files should be in quakelive/baseq/ui/.

Thanks Trajan - it's working now!

JOZ - The readme.txt file in the keypresses HUD download said to unzip everything into the home directory so if you have time maybe you can update it to reflect what's in Trajan's post above. And thanks for the HUD - it's very cool.

Can anyone tell me where I would put it to get it working in Wolfcam?
I've got the hud up in Wolfcam, but it doesn't show the keys pressed...

why would it show the keys pressed? are you pressing the keys? why would you want to show what keys youre pressing in wolfcam? its vq3 physics, which you might as well go to defrag for, and defrag already has chs.

So I take it that the only way to use it is when you're actually in-game using it?
In other words for recording it onto a demo it would be worthless?
