Anyway, if you search you may be able to find some application that runs outside of quakelive that will let you bind a key, countdown a preset amount of time, and then play a sound. No more "cheating" than using Teamspeak or Ventrilo, IMHO.

Or you could just buy a few chess timers and label them and actually press the buttons once you take an item. Unpreventable hack?

How would you consider using vent or TS cheating? Thats just silly. But using a third party program IS cheating. Playing a sound or whatever, it doesn't matter... but third party programs that give you an advantage will always be considered a cheat. learn to add.

u play duel, a friend of u is on the server, specing you enemy, telling u all he's doing via TS.. not cheating? and TS or vent ARE 3rd party progs btw XD

Yeah but you can't do anything if you have no items. The whole game is based around getting the items, and controlling where your opponent goes.

And you can't get the items without movement and aim. To keep the opponent away from it.

Unless of course the timer would only show if u saw the item being picked up or heard the sound of it and didnt otherwise count if u didnt do either.
