And the demo is made in a spec's pov anyway.
only some of the videos are in the spec's POV. item timer always works in demos, no matter what POV (in wolfcam).

Btw, does gears respawn X seconds after being taken, or is there a "respawn wave" every X seconds ?

Why is it available only on private servers?

it would only be abused on public servers. private servers are more controllable.

Respawn timer starts after the item is taken.

i dont really get how it works 100%...

    on dm6:
you are spectating someone at YA, so he cant see or hear RA (as far away as possible from RA on the map). RA is coming up, so the timer now says it is up. but, when its taken, and out of the players "range", how does the timer tell if the item is taken or not?

Well if your talking it about the timer then the game knows when you pick it up so the timer will say someone picked it up. But if your talking about a person knowing they picked it up, you can teel by their placement and if they know the time for it if they pick it up. Don't know how to explain it.

im talking about the timer knowing someone picked it up. since theres a limited "view range" (where the game has no clue whats going on past a certain point), how does the timer tell you when someone picked up an item that is out of your "view range"?

I wasn't talking about that timer hud element, the guy asked it in general.
Maybe the game doesn't have a "reporting-range" for power-ups? Obvious answer.
