Server Joining & Tier Adjustments

My tiers are messed up.. Now I play with people that aren't, as you can call it, "good". I was okay without the update, but thanks for trying to fix it.

FFA now is really tough, but also less boring. if this stays, i fear a bit the situation, having some days off the game =D

we joined a T3 CA server to find everyone was in Tier 4.

If you do find yourself spending a lot of time in empty servers, that is certainly something to let us know about. We are most interested in that experience not occurring.

This perfectly describes what should happen. For a system to be perfectly skill balanced you should have a 50% win percentage, losing one match for every match that you win.

Wrong. If someone is 25% better than the average guy then he should win 25% more. It's what makes everybody to desire to be better and train for that. The purpose of a game remains to win.

50/50 is the average win percentage of the average win percentage of each player. But people should individually have different ones.

I think you mix the global average with the individual average, no offense.

Ask Zero4 or Cypher or Fatal1ty if they find balanced games :P

And what do you think of my previous suggestion sir ?

Quick experience report:
I seem to be playing a lower tier now (CA) and thus getting higher scores in my games. There seem to be players of around my skill in those games but also players much worse than that, which makes teams uneven again. It's not that much fun playing those lower skilled players..

Not at all, actually. First off, T3 can only play down to T2, one tier down like everyone else. Tier 2 can't play down at all. There is no Tier 5. An average person in Tier 4 is playing nearly TWICE as much as the average person in Tier 3.

There's no verifiable data that says that Tier 4 are playing down less, our anecdotal evidence suggests the opposite-- we joined a T3 CA server to find everyone was in Tier 4.

Well, played a few games so far, FFA only. Took me longer than usual to find a server, but i did eventually find one 'sorta' within my ping range (not where i would like, but i can manage..)

As soon as I won a match, the B****ing-brigade (as i call them) join and fill half the server, instead of crying about 'slumming' as usual (they know they can't pull that one right now, i imagine.), they just start spamming kickvotes more or less out of nowhere instead. :P

Welcome to the new game. Lets see if they get tired of upskilling to troll combined with an ass kicking, I'm more than happy to dole those out. :P

I still like my idea of locking server skillratings when the match starts and showing everybody's skillrating number next to their icon on the scoreboard combined with callvote spam control.

Still early, I'll keep checking to see how availability and such is as things move on into evening.

Well I was thinking about it and I think i have a solution. I dont say it's THE solution but A solution. And it's for gamestypes in teams (CA, CTF, TDM, etc...)

When people start a game there is always a callvote to shuffle. But it's a SHUFFLE function who randomly shuffles. It's not a BALANCE function who balances the players depending of each player's skill.

This is the current behavior.

thanks for limiting my available servers. i paid to play on not to be punished if im in the higher tiers. now i can rock space ctf all the day dumb ********. when will this beta ****game finally die.

This is working really well. I wish it would allow an acception to the rules if your freinds are in a lower match. Now I can't show 'em whos boss.

Nowhere to play. I'm top tiered in each game type... Well, but I can't say that I'm so good. And finaly now I have nowhere to play. Few servers filled with jerks. Thank You Sponge - what a nice move.

Can I have my money back now?
