Some maps a lot brighter or darker than others [fixes]
This problem should only be occurring if you have manually edited config variables, the map system was in fact improved to try and prevent this, but it couldn't be done without causing some issues for those with extremely tweaked cfgs.

The problem isn't solved for me with those settings.
I played with my current settings (similar to the recommended above) for a few months and Retribution and Almost Lost were playable at some point, but stopped being playable after updates were made. For Almost Lost it was the update on 2nd february 2011 and for Retribution some update in autumn/winter 2010.
Iron Works is now dark too.

No. But you can make binds to apply specific settings.

Im having issues with siberia and asylum. In siberia the flag and all players are very bright which makes it hard to distinguish.
It got better with the adjustments above, but its still not good :/
