I dunno, I started Quake with QL. I just downloaded CPMA though, but since there are 0 pubs I probably won't be playing that for long. :x

Why is mouseaccel not recommended for beginners?

I'm 19, and I have often felt that I am in the lower half of the age spectrum in QL (which isn't a bad thing by any means, when one looks at other games today like WoW, LoL, and CoD).

A mousepad is highly recommended. As FlashSoul said it won't immediately jack up your skill rating, but it helps nonetheless.
